Dental Practice Division | PPS

Credentialing, contracting, and startup services adapted for dentists and dental groups. Same operational discipline, dental-payer-specific knowledge.

Dentistry runs on a different credentialing and payer landscape than medicine. The carriers are different (Delta Dental, MetLife, Cigna Dental, dental DMOs and DPOs). The fee schedules are structured differently. PPO networks and DHMO arrangements have their own contract language. PPS’s Dental Practice Division handles credentialing, payer enrollment, contract negotiations, and practice startup for dentists — using the same parallel-submission operational model as the medical practice but with a credentialing team that works dental payers daily.

What’s included

  • Dental payer enrollment — Delta Dental (each state plan files separately), MetLife, Cigna Dental, UnitedHealthcare Dental, Aetna Dental, Anthem Dental, and regional dental carriers.
  • PPO panel applications — including the dental PPO networks (Connection, MaxCare, etc.) that bundle multiple payers.
  • NPI registration and CAQH for dentists.
  • Dental Medicaid enrollment by state.
  • Dental startup services — entity formation, state licensure, office setup, billing platform selection.
  • Fee schedule analysis and renegotiation for established practices.

How it works

The workflow mirrors our medical credentialing process: intake → parallel submission → follow-up → effective-date confirmation. Dental tends to run slightly faster than medical commercial credentialing (average 75-100 days) but slower than expected on Delta Dental state plans, which are each their own credentialing entity.

Who this is for

  • New dentists launching their first practice.
  • Established dental groups onboarding associates.
  • DSOs (dental service organizations) needing scaled credentialing across multiple locations.
  • Dental practices going through ownership transitions.

What’s different about dental

Dental payers have a separate vocabulary, separate fee schedules (UCR vs. PPO vs. capitation), separate credentialing portals, and the Delta Dental plan-by-plan structure that surprises every new practice owner. The credentialing concept is the same. The execution is in a different lane and we keep a team in that lane.
